Polar Bear Club 2004 Monongahela River, Pittsburgh, PA 1/1/2004 These two very nice guys (Joe Polk, left, and Loran Skinkis, right) called out my name as I was making a bee line for my car. This was momentarily disturbing, since (a) I really wanted to get in the car, and (b) I had no idea who they were. As it turned out, they had previously done an internet search and landed on one of my web pages where I posted last year's Polar Bear photos. It was probably not difficult to recognize me since I had essentially the same skinny, frozen, half-naked pale look as last year!
